Team Golf Day  - Friday 19th Sept 2014

 

Wiltshire Air Ambulance is inviting keen golfers to take part in their

first ever golf day and raise money for the life saving charity.

 

It is being held at Cumberwell Park, Bradford on Avon, on Friday,

September 19, and is for teams of four people. The cost is £240

per team which includes morning refreshments, 18 holes played

Stableford format on the four star green, and coaching by a PGA

professional.

 

It also includes a three course dinner and evening

entertainment by the Will Blake Band as well as a fundraising raffle

and auction on the night.

 

Additional non-playing guests are also welcome to attend in the

evening as part of a separate package costing £25 per person.

 

Claire Kelly, head of events and charity services at Wiltshire Air

Ambulance Charitable Trust, said: “This is our first ever golf day

and I am hoping it proves to be popular. The crew land on golf

courses regularly to airlift as land ambulances would not be able

to get to seriously ill people out on the course.

 

“This event will help raise awareness in the this area plus golfing

events are popular and offer companies and individuals another

way in which to become involved. “It’s an ideal networking

opportunity for businesses as well as golfers who would like to

play on this prestigious course while helping to raise much needed

funds for a life saving local charity at the same time.

 

"As there is a maximum of 25 teams, I would urge people to enter as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.” John Jacobs, head PGA professional at Cumberwell Park and England Boys’ coach, added: “I’m so pleased that the charity is holding a fundraiser at Cumberwell. "I have seen first-hand how the air ambulance makes a difference when players are taken seriously ill on the golf course. It would be impossible for a land ambulance to get to anyone needing help. "I hope that the day goes well and we have many teams supporting Wiltshire Air Ambulance and enjoying our course at Cumberwell.”
